I'm really enjoying your newsletters Frank. And I would just like you to keep writing and sharing your ideas and discoveries. I wouldn't mind hearing your thoughts as you look back on your books, like Dead End Kids and No Heroine, etc. For instance, would you tell those stories the same way today or would anything change?
I'm glad the writing is resonating with you! As we move forward, I will definitely be looking back on my past work (and forward to some new stuff).
As for would I write it differently today, probably. What I've learned over the years is that each book is a bit of a time capsule of who I was at the time I was writing it, craft-wise but also in life. I think a lot of creators look back at their older work and cringe, but for me it's just who I was at the time and it's a reminder that I've grown since then. So, today-me would definitely write DEK or No Heroine differently than I did a few years ago, but I'm glad I wrote them when I did and have these little snapshots of myself to look back on.
You're doing great boss, and it's awesome hearing from you on a regular basis. Really enjoying your thoughts, any teases on things coming in the future comic wise? Have an awesome day!
